These are some of my recommended art supplies. You will hear me mention the supplies I like to use in my videos and posts around the internet. Read my thoughts about the product and any related videos or products that I may have to go with them below!

I will continue to add to the list as I find more products that I enjoy to use.

The prices I may list here on my website may change from time to time at the Blick website. If you discover a discrepancy please let me know so I can update it right away.

Watercolor Art Supplies

blick watercolor block paper

Looking for a better quality watercolor paper?  Try out this artist-grade watercolor paper pad from Dick Blick.

You will notice a HUGE difference using watercolor on 100% cotton vs the Student grade paper mixed with wood pulp.

Blick Premier Watercolor Blocks are glued on all four sides, keeping the sheets flat and wrinkle-free. They’re great for painting on location – no soaking required! This professional-quality paper is 100% cotton, acid-free, gelatin-sized, and archival, ideal for watercolors, gouache, inks, and acrylics

This has turned in to a great traveling set! I really love the color selection. And it’s easy to color on the go.

Color with dried pencils and blend together layers and then activate with water. Or you can take a wet paintbrush and wipe across the pencil tip to collect some pigment and paint away!

Bright and vivid colors that blend well together.

Give these Watercolor Pencils a try and tell me what you think.

Winsor Newton Paint Sets

When it comes to watercolor tubes my main go to are Winsor & Newton!

Need a brush suggestion to go with these watercolor paints? Silver Brush Black Velvet is my favorite: Silver Brush Black Velvet Brush Jumbo Round

I have mentioned this before as my oddball item in my art kit…. Plastic cups with lids!

They’re perfect for all kinds of crafty uses, but I especially love them for mixing watercolor paints. Pop a lid on, and you can keep your water-to-paint ratio just right between sessions.

Acrylic Art Supplies

canvas panels

Want to have a nice economic option for a painting canvas? I love these canvas art panels! They are great for beginners. And our girls love to feel like they are a professional artist when I prop a canvas panel up on an artist easel!

Made with lightweight (3 oz) cotton canvas on a 1/8″ backing, these Panels are primed with acrylic gesso to an 8 oz primed weight, so they’re suitable for use with oils, acrylics, tempera, and mixed media. The toothy surface grips paint well with minimal absorption, and the sides are turned under and securely glued. These panels are acid-free.

Choose from a variety of popular sizes in packages of 24 panels.

I recently had the pleasure of working on a large scale acrylic painting of a dragon. Being able to create your own large piece of canvas makes it an extra special art project!

Know how to stretch over a frame? Come teach me! I want to learn.

Dick Blick has several options of Canvas Rolls to choose from! But I recommend the Blick Acrylic Primed Cotton Canvas Rolls.

blickrylic student acrylic paint set

Looking to stock up on an excellent student grade acrylic paint? My kids LOVE to paint with acrylics. It’s awesome on paper, stretched canvas, or even wood products such as I make!

As always, when first starting to collect your art mediums I would recommend the basic color set to start with. Have fun teaching your kids about the color wheel with acrylic paints!

Coloring Book Art Supplies

What coloring book author would I be if I didn’t have something to suggest here for colorists such as yourself?
