Recommended Fabric Painting Supplies

I am a Dick Blick Affiliate because I love their products and price scheme the best. Check out these painting options they have:

  • Marabu Fashion Liner Fabric Paint ($2.57 – $3.71)Marabu Fashion Liner is a creamy fabric paint great for adding highlights, lettering, and embellishments to your designs. The tube’s skinny tip allows for beautiful lines. Available in vivid, matte colors and shimmering shades, the water-based, lightfast, odorless paint works with fabrics that contain up to 20% man-made fibers.

After the paint is heat set with an iron or in the oven, it’s washable up to 104°F. When dry, Fashion Liner is soft to the touch. It comes 25 ml (0.84 oz) tubes.

  • Tulip Brush-On Fabric Paint Kit – Rainbow ($18.86)Give a whole new, customized look to shirts, backpacks, hats, shorts, socks, and more with Tulip Brush-On Fabric Paint. Simply wash the item, apply paint, and let dry. The paint dries to a soft, flexible finish that’s permanent and washable. You can even blend colors to create your own unique hues or water them down to get a watercolor effect.

Kit includes 12, 1 oz. bottles of permanent fabric paint in White, Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Teal, Green, Light Blue, Royal Blue, Purple, Brown, and Black, plus two paintbrushes, and a reusable paint palette.

  • Unicorn Spit Gel Stain and Glaze ($10.97 – $17.41)Turn plain surfaces and items into vibrant, personalized works of art. Unicorn Spit Gel Stain and Glaze is a stain, paint, and glaze in one that can be applied to wood, glass, metal, fabric, pottery, wicker, concrete, and laminate. Make something new, or refinish and upcycle old tables, T-shirts, and more.

Crafters, makers, hobbyists, DIY enthusiasts, and professionals alike will love experimenting with Unicorn Spit Gel Stain. Apply it straight out of the bottle, or dilute it with water to create a gel, glaze, stain, whitewash, or antiquing tint. Paint it onto your surface with a brush, sponge, or another paint applicator. Made with concentrated pigments, the colors really pop.

This stain penetrates into wood grain or glazes over existing finishes, brightening and highlighting for a 3-D effect. Water-based, it’s easy to clean up and has a jasmine scent. Combine it with epoxy, or use epoxy as a topcoat once Unicorn Spit is dry.
